Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

At Cuttle Construction, we commit to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, with the following:

  • Near Term Target of 50% reduction by 2030
  • Net Zero Target of 90% reduction by 2050

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets

To continue our progress toward achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following:

  • Review and adopt the use of Carbon Accounting software
  • ‘Switch it off’ Campaign – Staff are encouraged to lower carbon intensity in our offices and on our sites by switching off and unplugging electric equipment or lighting when finished using them.
  • No Idling Campaign – Our Drivers and machine operators are encouraged to turn off their engines when stationary for long periods of time.
  • Installation of window insulation/solar film to reduce heat loss from the building through windows, achieving 62% of total solar energy rejected and blocks out over 99% of ultraviolet radiation
  • Employees to make use of web-based meetings wherever possible
  • Change lighting to fully LED (only 30% LED at the moment)
  • Review of fleet and change to electric vehicles within the next 10 years
  • Review and adopt carbon offsetting
  • Maintain ISO 14001 certification
  • Achieve PAS 2030 accreditation

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 463.8 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 57%
Progress against these targets can be seen in the graphs below:
